Crew Spotlight
Within our diverse staff, we’re fortunate that many of our crew members possess special skills and backgrounds. Here we highlight just a couple of Cole Hardware’s finest.
Gavin – Cole Fox (Mandarin & Cantonese)
One of our four new U.S. citizens, Gavin hails from China and is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese. In China, Gavin owned and operated his own repair store. Gavin came to the States in April 2003 and joined the Cole Hardware team in December 2005. He has since received an electrical certificate from the Treasure Island Job Corps Center. With a grin, Gavin tells us, “Doing something right in the first place is a lot easier than fixing the mistake.”
Mike – Cole Street (German)
After a six year hiatus, we’re delighted to have Mike back again in our business. Mike has a hardware following of professional contractors and maintenance crews that a rock star would envy and we heard from several frequent shoppers also thrilled by his return. Of Japanese descent, Mike’s father was born in Hawaii before it was a state. After becoming a U.S. citizen, he joined the military and was stationed in Germany, where he met Mike’s Mom. Mike got to enjoy the best of both worlds, growing up in Hawaii and Stuttgart. An expert in do-it-yourself projects after having restored several Victorians, Mike is also well-versed in plumbing and hardware. “It’s good to be back seeing all of the old customers and meeting the new ones.” Mike says. Welcome back Mike!
