Mystical and exotic waxed batik

The batik technique came to Europe on ships that brought tea and coffee. Asian textile design arrived with merchants from Java and demonstrated the creative activity of Europeans, which, combined with new materials, sent fashion in a different direction. Thus, pattern lovers were able to surround themselves with fabulous combinations of natural colors. And you can today!
But, as you remember, the original batik did not have the shape of crazy abstract patterns. There were only a few muted shades in the main color scheme.
Creating patterns with wax
Hot wax was used to create details and subtle curves. Perhaps it is a little reminiscent of the Moravian drawing, which was applied to linen, and later on cotton fabric.
The batik process itself requires patience and skill. One of the most effective ways is to apply wax with a special tool made of copper and bamboo, into which it is collected. It then flows through the tube and allows you to create elegant and precisely executed motifs.
Achieving the desired wax consistency is one of the most difficult tasks. If it's too hard, it won't flow and you won't be able to paint anything. The high-temperature wax will spontaneously spread over the fabric, forming one large uncontrolled stain. The numerical form of the word "just right" in this case has a value of 85 °C. This is easy to achieve thanks to special electronic containers, which are among the modern gadgets in batik and will greatly facilitate the work.
The risks of improper temperature have already been discussed, but there is another problem. High temperatures can even cause paraffin to ignite with the release of harmful fumes. Caution!
You can dye cotton, silk and artificial fabrics. There is only one condition that applies to all new and old materials without exception - the material must be clean, free of stains and defects. Before applying the paint, it is advisable to thoroughly wash and dry the material.
Then select the color according to the selected material. You will find different brands in stores, but always pay attention when choosing the material for which the color is suitable, and there will be no difficulties.
Batik was originally made with muted shades, which are usually found in nature. It was only in the crazy 60s and 70s in America that batik added fame and brightness of colors.
Batik motifs are often psychedelic. Therefore, wax-soaked textiles are included in the interior. However, batik is the same as with other techniques - it needs to be mastered. It is best to study batik by trial and error. Take a stock of fabric and colors and start experimenting! bitcoin bookmakers
